Lavaud - King Vaud [Video]

British-Mauritian singer/songwriter Lavaud releases the sensual, tropical visuals for ‘King Vaud’, the title track from her debut EP.

Produced by Nigerian hitmaker Tuzi, this big afrobeats tune emanates the essence of an exotic ancient kingdom. Flavoured with Eastern inspired instrumentals and Lavaud’s lush, undulating vocals, the hit is matched with a leafy-green visual, shot in Jamaica by British-Nigerian director Christina Nwabugo, which captures the warm, rich feel of the tune perfectly, tracking ‘King’ Lavaud as she dances amid her colourfully dressed cohort.

“As a woman, I wanted to create something that was not only real and authentic to me, but something that would empower others and change perspective." Lavaud explains. "In my opinion, there is no greater title than ‘Woman’, so why not also have the option to be ‘King’?".
