Following a five-year silence, Chattanooga, TN rapper Isaiah Rashad is back with his first new music since 2016, a brand new single called ‘Lay Wit Ya’ featuring Duke Deuce.

As we creep towards the release of Rashad’s second album, ‘The House is Burning’, the rapper sets the tone for the upcoming project with the release of his murky trap-influenced tune ‘Lay Wit Ya’. Sampling Three 6 Mafia’s ‘Ridin’ N’ Da Chevy’, the gritty tune sees Rashad drop verses slyly in hushed croaks and slick monotone before Memphis rapper Duke Deuce jumps aboard to offer a rollicking guest verse. The visuals for this track are all about the party, channelling the raucous energy of late nights at the club, reflecting the bigger, bolder vibe of the artist’s new music.

Speaking more widely on the forthcoming album, Rashad reveals, "This album was difficult. I love music, but I don't like to say shit. It's almost like a game for me. It's like working out. I don't want to be redundant. Redundancy in general bothers me. Any song that I make, I usually make it in about 30 minutes to an hour, and that's it. My ideas come to me immediately."

He adds, "Music is where I go to express myself. It's what I do to close a chapter. You know what's crazy? I'm not even ashamed to say it...I really think my albums aren't different from each other. Eventually, one of my albums will become a classic. I just love this shit. It's me.”
