Little Simz - Woman [Video]
Little Simz’ anthemic call to arms, ‘Introvert’, is a tough act to follow, but her latest track ‘Woman’ shows the artist has plenty more game-changing tunes up her sleeve as she builds towards the release of her hotly anticipated forthcoming record, ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’.
Produced by Inflo and featuring the luscious, heady vocals of her 'Selfish' collaborator, Cleo Sol, ‘Woman’ is Little Simz’ second taste of the greatness from her upcoming album, that will finally be released on September 3 2021 (can we really wait that long!?) It’s another empowering anthem that sees the 27 year old musician big up women across the world, showing no borders or bounds to her appreciation. The release also marks Little Simz directorial debut for the track’s sumptuous music video, that presents herself along with glamorous female associates as decision-making power players, classically styled in jewel-coloured suits, then in luxuriant gowns, working and living lavishly in a grand country estate. You may recognise some of these female faces, and Little Simz has selected her cohort with care - every woman in the video has personal significance to the artist, from her own cousins, Paij and Caroline, to her friend of 15 years, model Sienna King, to the likes of fellow creatives Jourdan Dunn, Kesewa Aboah, Joy Crookes, Miraa May and Denai Moore. It’s an epic release that puts the beauty and excellence of women in the spotlight and presents the nurturing, supportive environment that can be built when ladies lift each other up.
Speaking on the release, Little Simz reflects, "I love it when I see women doing their thing and looking flawless; I'm here for that! It's empowering, it's inspiring; I wanted to say thank you and I wanted to celebrate them."
