I M U R - Sad Girls Club [Video]
Vancouver trio I M U R drop trappy new tune ‘Sad Girls Club’ along with a set of edgy, eye-catching visuals.
The group are known and loved for their refreshing take on R&B, creating deep, layered soundscapes by melding the genre’s smooth, sultry vibe with an ultra dynamic style of production and sophisticated song structures. Dark, stylish and dramatic, the Sterling Larose directed music video for ‘Sad Girls Club’ has the perfect look for this brooding blast of sound. Blending heavy skittering beats, seductive - and at times slightly haunting - vocals and dense electronic flourishes, ‘Sad Girls Club’ delves into deep feelings too. “Our new single is about the trickery our subconscious mind plays on us when we're feeling low,” the group explained in a statement. “‘Sad Girls Club’ explores self-deprecation, unworthiness, and being burdensome. When a lot of our daily distractions came to a halt during the first month of quarantine, a lot of our demons came to visit. This track was our break-through from writers' block. By expressing our fears in a tangible way, it helped to pull us out of the mud.”
