Fousheé - gold fronts feat. Lil Wayne [Video]
New Jersey’s Fousheé and rapper Lil Wayne come together once again for their spirit-lifting single, ‘gold fronts’. You can catch the video for the release below.
Joining forces for the second time this year following their January collab ‘Ain’t Got Time’, Fousheé and Lil Wayne have created a sunshine soaked tune that offers hope and optimism. Led by Fousheé’s tranquil flutters on the guitar and honeyed vocals, the duo deliver lines on self-love in the face of adversity, with Fousheé’s chorus, “they can’t take our gold fronts away,” essentially saying no one can take her gold grill - or in other words - her identity and personality, away from her. Lil Wayne mirrors the neo-soul singer’s sentiments, with lines like, “they can't take these gold teeth / they can't take this gold leaf that I just rolled up / they can't take my gold blunt / can't tape my bullet holes up,” hitting the message home. The track’s music video begins with Fousheé singing and playing guitar, before heading to the local store and being joined by Lil Wayne. Interspersed with shots of friends and members of the community, the song’s loving and defiant message of being proud of one’s roots, even in a world filled with prejudice, shines through.
