We want in on Rihanna’s first ever Faux Leather pieces for FENTY

Rihanna is hands on when it comes to her brand FENTY, looking at how she can innovate the process of each collection, from every component used to create each piece. From the design techniques, to the choice of materials and stitching methods - the Bajan singer turned business woman is all over it.

In addition to the R2-20 FREEDOM drop earlier in the year, FENTY also unveiled a selection of faux leather items, for the very first time. Inspired by photographer Irving Penn’s iconic Small Trades series, which documented tradespeople in their work uniforms, the faux leather capsule consists of Jet Black and Café Latte pieces that are absolutely stunning.

The Faux leather make up is a 50/50 blend of polyurethane and polyester, then lined with soft cotton for a luxe finish. A light and flexible fabric which allows ease in movement, creating comfort and strong silhouettes to flatter the body. The seven piece capsule collection can be worn with each other, creating a fierce co-ord look or perhaps a mix and match of the two colour tones. Every piece is well thought through, with the detailed pockets on the combat trouser, to the cord used for the hoodie. The stitching is a key highlight to the pieces, creating a strong design finish to the collection.

The corset dress in Café Latte is my favourite. I love the back detail with the pleats hinging in on the waist and the collar, making it a smart chic and sassy look. The perfect combination attire for day wear into an evening event.
