A club night to remember... Hitty-X was out of this world!
What are the signs of an incredible club night out? One… you leave the dance and the first thing you wanna do is make sure your stories have loaded up onto the gram. Two… SWEAT! Need I say no more. Three… you don’t want the night to end and when it does, your first thoughts are, “when can I do that all again.” Four… you didn’t stop dancing, not once and five… you wake up the next morning with your dopamine levels through the roof, on an absolute fantastic and natural high from the night before. There you have it and where can you experience such a vibe? It’s simple really, just find yourself at a Hitty-X event and all the above will be achieved.
Last night (Saturday 8 July) was absolutely insane, just thinking about it fuels me with intense excitement because honestly, I think it was the best night of my entire year so far! HERE at Outernet is an outstanding venue, it’s 6K immersive video screen was the perfect backdrop, boasting DJ/Producer Hitty’s energetic two hour set into a complete and utter euphoric affair. Arriving at the Tottenham Court Road venue around 22:45, the entry queue was still spiralling around the block. Fortunately, my friend and I were on the guest list and smoothly entered the venue in no time at all. Just enough time to use the ladies and grab a double Hennessy and coke before placing ourselves, stage centre of the VIP mezzanine. Before you knew it, the music stopped briefly… why, because it was now 23:00 and Hitty was about to begin. Our timing couldn’t have been more impeccable, everything was moving like clockwork and we were ready to enter Hitty’s world of House!
Rocking his signature blacked out shades and gloves, accompanied by a fresh Chicago White Sox home jersey by Nike, Hitty appears on stage ready to take on a very packed out dance floor. The intro of A$AP Ferg’s ‘New Level’ comes blasting out the speakers… “I’m on a new level, I’m on a new level,” is this Hitty speaking to us vicariously through Ferg? Either way the message was well received. Hitty, YOU ARE on a new level! For those that know of Hitty’s DJ sets and productions, you’ll be well accustomed to his style, taking popular Hip Hop tunes and spinning them into deep/tech house masterpieces. It’s an exciting journey hearing a Hitty track transition from one genre to another, a skill Hitty has mastered over his many years as a producer. The build up to the drop on every one of his productions is literally perfection, driving the crowd crazy every single time!
Finessing the crowd with a varied set of his own works, re-crafting the likes of Drake’s ‘Know Yourself’ to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Like I Love You’, sprinkled with some original club classics from Technotronics 1989 smash ‘Pump Up The Jam’ to the Rocco Deep Mix of ‘Hiya Kaya’ by Kentphonik featuring Khensy. I was literally in house music heaven, fully immersed into the soundscape of Hitty’s incredible ear and skill of knowing and creating the greatest sounds for the club. We were in Hitty’s world and you know what, I really like it here. It wasn’t just about the music either, the visual graphics were exhilarating, taking the experience of DJ sets to a completely new dimension. “The night was a perfect example of what we’re trying to build as a new concept of raving, with more immersive elements through visuals,” Hitty tells us after the event. This is where effective branding really came into play and for Hitty, he hit the mark bang on.
Of course, all good things come to an end and with a satisfied crowd, Hitty delivered exactly what he needed to do. But it wasn’t over just yet, BBK’s Maximum was up next to close the night. This was expected however, what we didn’t know is that Hitty was about to go back to back with Maximum, whilst the visual screens transitioned into a live recording of this very moment. “I reached out to Maximum because his mixing style is so unique,” Hitty shares. “He blends sounds perfectly but still manages to hide what’s about to come on next, so the drop always hits! He’s always been a cold DJ, and it’s not a back to back ppl would see coming, so it gives the surprise element a more unique experience.”
For the final hour we were once again serenaded with the best of deep and tech house, as the pair shared their selection of household club tracks, one after the other. Time moves fast when you are having fun and just like that, the night came to an end, closing out with Hitty’s very own Diddy Bop. The crowd applauded and needless to say, it was an absolute night of ‘shellings’.
With a 70k+ following on Spotify and hundreds of thousands of streams garnered to date thus far, Hitty is most definitely the talent to watch within the club scene. For a chance to catch him live, Hitty will be performing at We Are FSTVAL on Friday 25 August 2023.
