Nigeria-hailing, London-based rising talent Obongjayar offers a glimpse of debut record Some Nights I Dream Of Doors, with new track ‘Tinko Tinko (Don’t Play Me For A Fool)’, which brings vibrant tropical afro-beat with cool, easy-going vocal tones to weave a dreamy summer soundscape.

The track is accompanied by an imaginative music video which brings a surreal touch to the grounding message of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes to understand their perspectives on life and experiences. The Milo Blake-directed video sees the singer employed at ‘OB Dream Corp’ organisation, capturing his experiences during a night shift as the track delves into the intriguing theme of role reversal.

Speaking about the track, Obongjayar shared: “There’s always a moment in a relationship where you start second-guessing yourself, this is me writing from the perspective of a former partner - sometimes it’s good to imagine yourself on the outside looking in.”

With a reputation for music that’s personal yet thoughtfully, explorative of the world around us, Obongjayar has built an expansive musical palette that defies genres while sticking to his rich Nigerian roots – his upcoming album looking set to further define his constantly evolving artistry.
