Providing us with a new dreamy lo-fi sound for summer is new Florida-based collective CRUZA. Released earlier this month through a new partnership between UK label Juicebox Recordings and American Terrible Records, ‘Indeed’ is a compelling track with a soft gliding guitar and an illuminating nature.

Creating their sounds with authenticity at the forefront, CRUZA use their affinity for song-writing to soulfully document their own young adult experiences with an insightful approach. ‘Indeed’ is a soft number that uses repetitive lyricism to capture and reinforce the pensive romance-tinged feelings the track shares. Taking influence from a breadth of influences, namely King Krule, Tame Impala and Radiohead, CRUZA continue to master the act of blending elements of R&B with psychedelic and alternative rock. Carried gently by the lush mellow melody, the visceral vocals provide the perfect balance to the airiness of this release.

Sharing the song-writing process, the group explained, “Indeed came together in a very organic way. It was one of those situations where when AJ initially played the track for us, the melody instantly came to us and kind of just flowed in a way that made writing the lyrics so effortless.”

On the theme of the track they added, “from a lyrical standpoint, the song is essentially about being in that tough spot of feeling infatuated with someone who may not feel the same way about you. Instead of taking the risk of expressing your feelings and potentially facing rejection, you end up keeping your feelings inside and dealing with the torment of never truly knowing if they feel the same way about you.”

‘Indeed’ provides listeners with yet another unique, fresh sound and establishes CRUZA as a band firmly on the rise.
