Ahead of the debut album due for release June 25, Tori Zietsch’s moniker Maple Glider shares an intimate fourth track. ‘Baby Tiger’ is a soft and airy number that captures this artist’s more fragile and vulnerable state with both an under-lying sadness and heart-warming lift.

An ode to her four-legged companion, ‘Baby Tiger’ features a raindrop-weighted, nylon string guitar and piano chords under her distinctive silky vocals. “Baby tiger was written soon after I’d returned home from Brighton,” she shared. “I was really struggling with my mental health, but I was going out and kind of using dating as a distraction from dealing with it. It never really worked. I’d just end up feeling worse when I was alone.”

A graceful listening experience, we hear Tori try to comfort the curious cat as she struggles to pull herself out of vacancy. “Coriander hates closed doors. She’ll always want to know what you’re doing on the other side,” Tori added. “It became comforting to hear her scratch at my door. It was something that felt constant and unwavering and regular at a time when I was a bit vacant. Her energy made me feel lighter.”
