Bea Anderson - Easy [Video]
London newcomer Bea Anderson sets the bar high with her debut single ‘Easy’, a soulful acoustic ballad that lets the emerging artist’s heavenly vocals soar.
Selected from Bea’s forthcoming debut EP, 'the eden project’, ‘Easy’ is a superb introduction to the emerging singer, whose pure and potent songwriting sparkles with open-hearted emotion and warmth. Reflecting on the mindset behind her song, Bea explains,”I believe in a pure, uncompromised love; not confined to conditions or self - a love that is just.. so.. Easy.” The track builds slowly from its melodic guitar beginnings until Bea’s heady trills are joined by a troupe of soul singers and sighing strings; the result is simple romantic bliss. ‘Easy’ is paired with an expressive and reflective music video, directed by Aiden Harmitt-Williams, where a barefoot Bea performs graceful choreography alongside a small group of dancers, their gentle movements seemingly expressing the peaceful manner in which she embraces her newfound vulnerability.
Inspired by her Gospel choir beginnings and a love of unique R&B artists such as H.E.R., Lauryn Hill and Solange, Bea is also deeply proud of her Carribean heritage, and is keen to emphasise the diversity and range in the music of black women: “I don’t see why we need to be boxed in or generalised” she says, “Black Women and Women of Colour are exceptional, multi-faceted beings."
‘The eden project’ is slated for Spring 2021 (which is soon!) so stay on the lookout for Bea.
