London R&B singer Alana Maria impresses with her latest single ‘Wait/Pause’. Featuring emerging rapper and poet Cristale, who doesn’t hold back with her fiery bars that echo over the infectious drill beat, this track is about being your own hype man. This new release hear’s Alana welcome a new sound with the addition of modern drill amongst her nostalgic R&B vocals, coining the style ‘RnDrill’.

Giving insight into the creative process Alana said, “’Wait/Pause’ is an RnDrill banger that gets everyone skanking! This song was so fun to create, I was interested in testing new sounds and melodies, as I’m always pushing myself creatively so me and producer Mike Brainchild created the beat from scratch and it worked really well!” The track highlights an elevated musical ability from this young artist, tapping into the sounds of her culture while rising star, Cristale, injects her no nonsense delivery.

Cristale is making her own mark in the UK rap scene with impressive freestyles sampled over the sounds of Pa Salieu through to Drake. On the collaboration between the two young artists Alana said, “I needed someone hard with a sick flow and I really wanted Cristale on the track. As soon as she rapped her verse, I knew it was gonna be a hit.”

Alongside the track comes visuals directed by Ian Upton and Jeaniq. The blog style visuals show a day in the life of the dynamic duo, Alana and Cristale, as they tour the streets of Central London, shopping and taking in the scenes of the city.
