Alewya - Play [Video]

London’s Alewya has done it again. The Londoner has captured the spiritual, transcendent connection that many of us have to music with ease and character. ‘Play’ is the latest release from this creative force, and it is utterly addictive.

Produced by Busy Twist, who also worked on her breakout debut single ‘Sweating’, this new offering is a ‘kinetic celebration of freedom’. Summoning the listener to move, ‘Play’ alludes to moments of pleasure, captured both musically and lyrically. It presents both a dangerous temptation and a flirtatious energy with her distinctive rich drum ‘n’ bass influences and Afro-fusion inspired flare.

In a statement about the track, Alewya shared “’Play’ is a song about my long and gratitude for pleasure and play and how it has and can unlock deeper feelings of connections. It’s overtly feminine and innately primal and most of all light and fun!” Her confidence and self-assured aura is infectious, making this release a bold and empowering anthem.

Continuing to impress in each one of her artistic outputs, the accompanying video is equally hypnotic. This time taking the viewer on a visual journey from dusk to dawn as she dances and twists, evocative of the warmth and light surrounding her movements.
