IDK & A$AP Ferg - Mazel Tov [Video]

It’s hard to know where to start with IDK & A$AP Ferg’s newly released visuals for ‘Mazel Tov’. The vivid music-video is a playful picture of glamorous excess, teeming with tongue-in-cheek antics to match the track’s mischievous lyrics. ‘Mazel Tov’ is taken from the documentary ‘Basketball County: In the Water’ for which IDK created the soundtrack.

Dancing around the pool in a villa in the hills, US rappers IDK & A$AP Ferg along with a bundle of beautiful women are all in white, partying like it’s 1999. It feels pretty great to indulge in the videos irresistible hip-hop glitz and outrageousness, especially at a time when the real-world isn’t quite delivering on the celebration front. The shots of the festivities are undeniably funny and over-the-top, with partygoers flossing (as in the dance, of course), IDK in the water getting fed grapes by two gorgeous guests and IDK & A$AP Ferg baring their bravado on top of their poolside piano. The video for ‘Mazel Tov’ is undeniably uplifting, popping with colour and a feel-good summertime sheen. It also unsurprisingly makes references to Jewish culture depicting party-guests happily dancing the hora, a circle-dance that takes place at Jewish celebrations.
