Jidenna - Black Magic Hour [Video]

Check out the mesmerizing visuals for Jidenna’s ‘Black Magic Hour’, the hip-hop artist’s latest single and the first release from his upcoming project ‘African on All Sides’ by Bullish Recordings, due for release later this year.

Inspired by Jidenna’s reflections on his heritage, the video, infused with dark mysticism and intrigue sees the rapper and singer as he has a chance meeting with an ancestral spirit. In a statement on the fascinating new track, Jidenna explains, “each year that you grow, you think more and more about legacy; that's why the verse starts with, ‘I'm from a long line of Chiefs, I was made in their image.’ But I think that line alone is important because I'm recognizing them as deities in my own life. I think that we, as people of African descent/black people, need to recognize and celebrate our own deities.”
