Sampa The Great - Time’s Up feat. Krown [Video]
Watch the video for Sampa The Great’s ‘Time’s Up’ featuring Krown, where 90’s inspired high-octane theatrics roll out the red carpet for the song’s hard-hitting lyrics.
With fierce colourful visuals as their armour and words as their weapons, Melbourne based artists Sampa and Krown step forward to challenge the music industry, head-on. According to Sampa, ‘Time’s Up’ portrays, “a conversation between two young African artists working in the Australian music industry. An industry that has often been careless in protecting the wellbeing of Black Artists. The labour put on marginalised people to have to address systemic racism every day means more trauma and pressure on our mental health and emotional state."
Sampa has partnered with Pola Psychology, a Naarm (Melbourne) based therapy practice to make sure African youth/musicians can access culturally appropriate mental health care in their own community, by their own community. You can donate to the cause here.
Check out the official video for ‘Time’s Up’ taken from Sampa The Great’s latest album ‘The Return’, which is available to stream on Spotify now.
