Joshua Vides brings his black and white sketches to life in collaboration with Fendi for 'California Sky' Collection
Los Angeles based, self-taught graphic artist Joshua Vides adds another brand to his collaboration list, as his creative commissions for Italian luxury fashion house Fendi, leads into a collection partnership for the brands Pre-Fall 2020 range.
The ‘California Sky’ collection designed by Fendi Creative Director, Silvia Venturini, is brought to life with Vides’ artistic style. His signature bold black and white sketched graphics are used across the collection, delivering a mix of essential pieces for your wardrobe. Fendi classics such as the Peekaboo bag are included, along with matching suits, jackets, t-shirts, sneakers, hats and more.
From Nike to Giuseppe Zanotti, Joshua Vides’ recognisable black and white, sketch like illustrations have become a distinct style amongst some big name fashion brands. Fendi first commissioned the graphic artist to create the Peekaboo Bar in London last summer, a pop-up customisation station for Fendi’s iconic bag. This then followed with the Fendi Caffe at Harrods. A Fendi employee had apparently slid into Joshua Vides DM’s on Instagram, to initiate the partnership. Now that is a direct message I would not mind receiving. “At first, I didn’t know whether to believe it or not,” Vides commented in the press release. Venturini also shared her thoughts on Vides work, “I thought the emotion he was able to give by just using a black marker was amazing. It’s in our DNA to share creativity and collaborate in a very open way.”
The ‘California Sky’ collection is due to drop this summer on Fendi’s online store.
