Transcend into your consciousness with Daily Paper’s SS20 collection
Amsterdam based brand Daily Paper explores several design techniques for their SS20 collection, in keeping of their boldness and pride in African culture. From using the ancient Shibori tie-dye technique to crocodile embossed faux leathers, an array of prints - zebra being the highlight across their selection of product and a continuation of bold colours, accustom to the brands outstanding collections over the seasons.
In addition, the brand looks to natural elements of the earth with their Daily Paper Healing Stones, enabling us all to transcend into our very own consciousness. The White Henwhi T-Shirt and Grey Halgra Hoody comes with a grid of multiple stones with varying healing properties, printed on the back of each product. The same stones are then arranged in two concentric circles on the front.
Other stand out pieces from the collection include the matching Green Denim Hafi Jacket and Hosni Pant, loaded with authentic details made from a vintage-effect broken-in acid wash denim, finished with modern garment-dyeing techniques.
Throughout all of Daily Papers collections, one continuous journey is prominent: identity and culture being the focal point of the brand. Created by Dutch-African childhood friends Hussein, Jefferson and Abderrahmane, Daily Paper is fuelled by the rich heritage of African culture wrapped in contemporary designs. Initially starting off as a blog, Daily Paper was born from a shared love for music, art, fashion, and culture.
The SS20 campaign shot in Ghana, the motherland continent along with the brands continuous use of black models, takes us directly to the root - AFRICA.
