Making it’s debut at New York Fashion Week, global fashion house SUKENIA took to the Spring Studio’s runway to showcase their autumn / winter collection, made up of ethereal and subtly mysterious designs.
Founder and Creative Director Omar Salam, born in France and originating from Senegal, West Africa, established SUKENIA, naming the fashion house after his late mother, meaning ‘bright light.’ Salam had a found passion for making women look and feel special, shaping his approach to fashion - progressive, innovative and powerful whilst still beautifully elegant. For autumn /winter, Salam delivered a stunning collection of outerwear and form fitting dresses, reflecting his signature design aesthetics with the use of origami patterns, fine tailoring and structured silhouettes. To Salam, the collection is a reflection of life and optimism.
Expressing the essence of inner beauty and unique spirit that is womanhood; the collection pops with bright green, fluorescent yellow, lilac and maroon colours, with intricate threading, embellishment, African braidings and feathers - presenting meticulously detailed designs, yet glamorous in their simplicity.
