A celebration of 50 creatives for Kickers 50th anniversary
From DJ’s to dancers, art curators to editors, Kickers have selected a range of creatives who they see shaping their industries over the next 50 years. In response to the current climate thrown upon the creative industry and the appearance of headlines surrounding suggestions of ‘retraining’, Kickers worked closely with each creative to challenge the notion. Highlighting the importance of the individuality and originality of each trailblazer, the brand gained feedback on their education experience and how they developed their skill and talent since their days at school, challenging the traditional notion of success through ‘core subjects’.
Since its founding days in 1970, Kickers footwear has influenced style trends in music and youth culture, becoming a classic staple uniform footwear choice within the British classroom. Taking influence from where you can find them most, Kickers embrace their classroom heritage, shooting their campaign in the style of a classic school portrait. Shot by renowned film photographer Rosie Matheson, the portraits aim to reflect the individual personality of each creative in an authentic style. The images showcase the groups varied skills and talents, highlighting the strength and power behind the UKs creative industry.
The Kickers Class of ’50 campaign includes creatives such as Leanne Elliot Young of Digital Institute of Fashion, singer Olivia Dean, BRICKS magazine founder Tori West, and Trippin World co-founder Kesang Ball. Not forgetting the talented team that made the campaign happen, from makeup artist Lauren Webster to Rosie Matheson herself. Kickers see’s this group as a ‘true celebration of homegrown talent’ featuring some of the most exciting creatives of the moment.
