Fresh out of school and already killing it, North West London talent Kamal drops the cinematic visual for his new single ‘about the party’.

At 18 years old, the singer-songwriter has already proved himself to be a star on the rise. Kamal’s tracks have earned him millions of streams and support from top musicians such as Billie Eillish and Dave. In ‘about the party’, Kamal mixes chilled out, mellow instrumentals with emotive, introspective lyricism to explore the all too relatable concept of showing your face at the party when you’re not really into it, simply to save yourself from FOMO. Kamal’s thoughtful lyrics and music video, which captures him looking distant and detached from the festivities at a house party, suggests wisdom beyond the young artist’s years, while giving us an intimate glimpse into his city upbringing and teenage antics. Alongside the track, Kamal also drops a part 2 to this story in the form of ‘autopilot’, a dreamy reflection of travelling back home in a post-party daze.
