Mugun - Old Testament [Video]

An artist high on our radar as ‘One To Watch’, Coventry’s Mugun returns with ‘Old Testament’, the third offering from his forthcoming mixtape 'More Queens'.

Marrying the things most synonymous with Mugun: Jamaican culture and the ability to craft rap earworms, 'Old Testament' boasts introspective rhyming, eerie synths and nocturnal drum programming to counterbalance the DIY, dancehall-inspired hook. “I recorded 'Old Testament' during a period when the world was feeling highly unsettled,” Mugun explains. "Everyone and everything was restless and uncertain and the feeling I got from it was reminiscent of how I would feel when my Nan would recite me a chapter from the first half of the Old Book. The record was born from that feeling and from how I imagined it would be during the time of the Old Testament and ultimately, it's something I needed to capture in a song."
