Mysie - joyride [Video]

Rising South-East London star Mysie reveals the news of her forthcoming EP joyride alongside the release of the title track single. The subtly heartfelt track pairs sunny, bright guitar strings with snappy percussion which meanders alongside Mysie’s soft vocals that beam with personality and character. This is a track about “love not aligning,” as Mysie puts it.

Inspired by the sounds of her childhood and her perceptions of genre as a dancer in her youth, Mysie continues to delve deep within herself for her latest, blending intimate soul with modern indie. The new project album is said to be about the turmoil of love and how we change as people, as it starts to fall apart. “joyride is about holding on and eventually letting go,” explains Mysie. “All the lessons I’ve learned about myself during the ride will never stop.”

The record is due for release on May 13 via 70Hz, owned by Mysie’s mentor, producer, and close collaborator Fraser T. Smith. Speaking on their work together Fraser said, “The joyride EP is Mysie’s best work to date, as she opens up her heart, mind and soul – and takes the listener on an intimate, beautiful rhythmic journey.”
