Surya Sen - So I Just / Slidin' [Video]
North London born British/Bengali producer Surya Sen has made his video debut with visuals for the euphoric track ‘So I Just’ featuring Bone Slim. Characterised by his fusion of old school house, hip hop and UK garage, Surya Sen sculpts a sound that is equally nostalgic and fresh.
The visuals have a similar vibe, with hazy shots, illustrative overlays and other underground rave scene tropes. Surya Sen elaborated on the artistic direction of the video stating his vision was to “reflect the many styles and genres that influence my music, mixing the golden age of the 90's style east coast hip hop video era such as 'Wu-tang clan / Diggin in the crates crew' with early 00's UK Garage music videos like 'Majestic - Lets go Back'."
As ‘So I Just’ ends, the visual transitions into ‘Slidin’’ featuring FELA.Mi. The tempo drops down to a lo-fi style hip-hop production, as we’re treated to rap bars against the now hazy styled visual before slipping into the visuals credits.
