Giving us a visual insight into his deeply personal track is Los Angeles based singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist artist Khamari. ‘Doctor, My Eyes’ hears Khamari capture how many of us feel as we navigate through early adulthood, dealing with overwhelming emotions and losing self-awareness. The cinematic video captures the introspective track perfectly, with direction coming from MOM to tie it together.

The soulful ballad is elevated by Khamari’s tender vocals showing his vulnerability, an admirable element that drifts amongst the softly strummed guitar and airy soundscapes. In the video we see Khamari during moments of self-doubt, loneliness and desperation, aided by warm tones and touching moments. In a statement about the track, Khamari shares that the song is about “looking for perspective.”

“When I wrote it, I had moved from Boston to LA and was trying to make sense of my life. A lot of things were shifting too fast to keep up with, but things I hoped would change stayed the same.”

A multifaceted artist, Khamari grew up in the Dorchester neighbourhood of Boston and has gained critical acclaim for his recent releases, being compared to the likes of Frank Ocean and Leon Bridges.
