Milan Ring - Hide With You [Video]
Climbing to the forefront of Australia’s R&B scene with a musical aptitude firmly established is Milan Ring with her latest single, ‘Hide With You’, out today. The new release asserts her as a multi-faceted artist with a gift for drawing upon numerous influences to create a sound that is authentic and her own.
‘Hide With You’ was written, performed and mixed entirely by Milan herself, cementing her as a musician steeped in talent and maturity. The track itself symbolises a longingness, using vast and dynamic soundscapes, scattered piano and soaring vocals to illustrate the pursuit of something out there. “’Hide With You’ is about the search for freedom; hoping that one day, in the vastness of space & time, we find it together,” shares Milan, speaking on the track. “This is a song I hold very dear to my heart and has provided great healing for me. I hope that it may do the same for others also."
In true creative nature, Milan Ring curates each aspect of the song writing process, from that initial guitar chord until the final mix. Having already collaborated in the studio with the likes of SZA, DRAM, Chance The Rapper’s group The Social Experiment, BJ The Chicago Kid, The Avalanches, Cosmo’s Midnight and more, her work is sought after and is set to continue to impress.
The single artwork for ‘Hide With You’ features the Mudra, which is an Indian dance symbol for Bhramara, and refers to picking things and opening knots, a nod to Milan’s heritage. The video for the track was also premiered yesterday and see’s Milan basking in a warm golden hue. Shot during Sydney’s lockdown, the visuals were directed by Milan’s flatmate Caitlin McCartney and work as the perfect accompaniment to the originality of the song.
