Bellah - Evil Eye [Video]
Rising R&B star Bellah releases beautiful visuals for her latest song ‘Evil Eye’.
Bellah’s proved herself to be a prolific artist since she first emerged in 2019, offering three EPs (including ‘In The Meantime’) and plenty of glossy singles in a very short space of time, whilst overcoming the not-so-small obstacle of a global pandemic to establish herself as a serious one to watch. Following her stunning Colors Show performance, the velvet voiced singer-songwriter has since released a polished version of her lush and open-hearted tune, ‘Evil Eye’, and dropped a music video steeped in spiritualism to match. Directed by Ray Fiasco, the cinematic offering follows a young Bellah as she leaves the safety of her mother and home for an important journey, following the trail of a butterfly to meet with an oracle. In her lyrics, Bellah asks her mother to pray for her so as to protect her from “that evil eye” or the bad influences of adulthood, in order to keep on her path to success and happiness. The British-Nigerian artist pays homage to her roots in her sound as well as the visuals, with vibrant and energetic West-African rhythms fizzing alongside her incredibly smooth tones, carried on cadences that rise and fall like waves on the sea. ‘Evil Eye’ expresses the importance of faith and family in Bellah’s life whilst uplifting listeners and encouraging them to boogie - This girl can do it all!
