Hope Tala - Mad [Video]

With an instant invitation to move comes Hope Tala’s latest single, ‘Mad’. Following an infectious bossa nova rhythm with a modern dancehall twist, Hope Tala’s voice echoes over the track that develops with the introduction of erratic piano and electric guitar.

On the track, Tala said, “I wrote ‘Mad’ about having feelings of frustration and hysteria in a long-distance relationship. It’s about being unable to communicate properly and feeling lost in the loneliness – so it’s ironic that I wrote most of the song a week or two before the first lockdown started in the UK. Foreshadowing, almost.”

Directed by Milicent Hailes, the music video is as dreamlike and tranquil as the record itself, with an underlying glimmer of madness that unites the song’s theme.
