Q - If You Care [Video]

Watch the poignant ballet-themed visuals for Q’s song ‘If You Care’. The single officially came out following Q’s wonderful performance of the new single for COLORS, as part of their collaboration with Burberry.

Teaming up once again with director Loris Russier, Q is really showing himself to be a very special kind of artist with an eye for delicate narratives that perfectly complement the soft and soulful quality of his funk-inflected music. ‘If You Care’ follows the plight of a black ballerina, played by Marsha Guirlande Pierre, working hard in the run-up to an important performance. If the gruelling rehearsal schedule wasn’t enough to contend with, we see that she’s also busy caring for a woman at home (likely her mother), pulling shifts at the grocery store and plagued by tender memories of a loving relationship with a fellow ballet dancer, which seems to have ended in tragedy. Stunning cinematography and performances bring this small yet important story to life, and Q blends seamlessly into the story in his usual low-key way.
