Lavaud & Reekado Banks - Oh My [Video]

Hackney’s Lavaud collabs with afrobeat crooner Reekado Banks on the delectable new single, ‘Oh My’, the first release from the UK independent label PRMISE LAND.

Accompanied by a tantalising visual that doubles an escapist retreat into sun, sea and sexiness, ‘Oh My’ is a lush mingling of R&B and afrobeat sounds that perfectly captures the breezy island vibes depicted in its shot-in-Jamaica based music video, made by Nigerian-British Director, Christina Nwabugo. British-Mauritian Lavaud’s French and English vocal performance is slick and seductive alongside afrobeat singer Reekado Bank’s deep tones, and the duo’s joint performance is a fiery representation of the power of love and lust.

Lavaud explains, “‘Oh My’ is about prayers coming true when you discover real love, there’s a point when we cross past infatuation and fall deep into love, this connection and dedication to someone special is so spiritual. I wanted to capture that freedom in a way that made people relate but also feel good when they hear it.”

To coincide with the release of ‘Oh My’, Lavaud has also collaborated with British-Nigerian fashion designer Tokyo James on a limited edition #OHMYTOKYOJAMES collection, kicking off with the “Pepper” Bag which was unveiled in a fashion film directed by PRMISE LAND Studios last week on Tokyo’s Instagram.
