Bringing you more vibes from Stockholm soul artist Nápoles with her dreamy new tune ‘Know My Place’.
The hypnotic, R&B-inflected release follows Nápoles’ 2020 EP ‘Slowin It’ and provides a blissful space for calm reflection. Aided by Nápoles melodic, buttery vocals, the single is the perfect gateway into the singer-songwriter’s smooth and sultry sonics, further examples of which can be found on her Spotify.
Nápoles is one third of Ladieslovehiphop, a creative collective formed by the artist and her childhood friends Namarijana and Miss Cc. Since 2014, the trio have been spinning records, throwing parties and arranging community driven cultural experiences in Sweden, and Ladieslovehiphop now acts as the independent label and creative force behind Nápoles musical journey.
Reflecting on the single, Nápoles states, “Know My Place is my take on a classic slow jam song. It’s supposed to bring you back to the ‘90s/early ‘00s and give you an up to date feel at the same time. I wrote the lyrics as a reminder to myself to stay grounded. Even when times are hard, I know everything will be alright and the song itself helps me to get to that place. Meditation and daily reflection is vital to me and I hope my music will help others reconnect with themselves and their surroundings as well.”
