Cero Ismael - Darling [Video]
Hailing from Amsterdam, Dutch rising star Cero Ismael unveils the trippy video for 'Darling', an indie-leaning hip-hop tune taken from his forthcoming eight-track debut EP ‘Blue Man’.
Directed by Youp Whenes and Tristan Hageman, the psychedelia-tinged visual follows Cero as he reflects on an all too recent break-up and questions why his ex only seems to pop up to make sure he’s not doing too well. Exes can be so sneaky. Mixing scenic shots of Cero running through fields with glimpses of him standing in crumbling buildings, the glitchy film is reflective of the emotional turmoil unleashed by this unfortunate parting of ways.
Speaking on the video, directors Youp and Tristan said:
“‘Darling’ was an extension of the previous videos we created for the ‘Blue Man’ project. We tried to make an abstract view on the upside down world concept, not knowing where you are but feeling lost in a sense of reality. We as people are constantly fighting emotions from the past, while not realising how the past affects the future.”
