Rachel Chinouriri - Darker Place [Video]
Following her cover of ‘What the World Needs Now’ and powerful ballad, ‘Give Me A Reason’, star on the rise Rachel Chinouriri is utterly captivating in her hypnotic new single ‘Darker Place’.
A sultry blend of mesmeric production and crisp, haunting vocals, Chinouriri’s ‘Darker Place’ is a seriously striking offering with an engrossing visual to match. Directed by Milo Blake, who’s previously worked with artists like Louis Culture, Lord Apex and Finn Foxell, the video for ‘Darker Place’ captures your attention and doesn’t let go, switching between eclectic light and dark scenes throughout. Chinouriri’s raw talent and vocal ability would absolutely be sufficient to impress, but her creative prowess and emotionally sophisticated songwriting demonstrates that the rising star is operating on another level.
Speaking about her new single Rachel says, “‘Darker Place’ is about the battle between light and darkness. I don’t fear darkness and believe that in the right circumstances, every human being has the potential to do anything,” she explains. “I wrote this about a person who follows someone around, but is conflicted on whether to act on impulse or hold their urges – that battle that this person has in their head.”
