BAELY - Float [Video]
With vocals like butter wouldn’t melt, rising South London singer-songwriter BAELY reveals his latest single ‘Float’. The smooth R&B offering flaunts BAELY’s captivating lyricism backed by sleek production from British Trinidadian producer Aston Rudi. Coming from Irish and Caribbean heritage himself, BAELY and Aston use their influences for this track to give it a genuinely rich sound.
“It’s about the yearning for love without unnecessary confrontation and the preference of being alone, instead of caught up in contention,” states BAELY giving insight into the track. His deep soulful voice holds a charming charisma as he yearns for smooth sailing relationships with the words: I like when I float // take it slow, one more go // then I might fly away // you know, you could be my escape - repeated as the track moves from laid-back bop into an impressive outro with soaring soundscapes.
“I really wanted to capture the essence of my ideal relationship,” explains BAELY. “Essentially that’s when it’s right, it can feel close to the idea of floating away from the heaviness in the world.”
The accompanying video provides the perfect visuals with BAELY and an intimate partner dancing in synchronisation, with intermittent scenes of him floating in water.
