Joel Culpepper - Poetic Justice [Video]
The inimitable Joel Culpepper releases the 70’s flavoured visuals for ‘Poetic Justice’, the Tom Misch collab from his forthcoming album ‘Sgt Culpepper’.
The moodily lit music video for the new single is directed by Julianknxx and fits perfectly with the soulful, vintage-tinged sounds swirling round Culpepper’s smooth, expressive vocals. The track is produced by Tom Misch, who reached out to Culpepper after hearing ‘Afraid to be King’ from the London soul singer’s 2017 album ‘Tortoise’.
Speaking on ‘Poetic Justice’, Culpepper says, “I feel like justice is poetry, but it’s also complex. Part of justice is forgiveness; no longer enslaved by the pain of what someone’s done to you, but the ability to move on from it.”
