Elisa Imperilee - Water [Video]

South London’s Elisa Imperilee drops her vibey new tune ‘Water’, produced by longtime collaborator Srigala and accompanied by an intimate video directed by Almass Badat.

Self-released with the support of the Help Musicians’ ‘Do It Differently’ award, the woozy downtempo track shows off Imperilee’s honey-soaked vocals. Her dreamily-sung melodies meld with Srigala’s hypnotic instrumentals to great effect, pulling you into a daze in the best possible way. But despite the song’s dreamy sonics, the song was inspired by a difficult period in Imperilee’s life. Reflecting on the single, Elisa says, "People always told me that time was a healer. But sometimes time isn't enough and the difficult truth is that you have to put in work to heal yourself. When I wrote this song I was in a dark place yet somehow this felt more comfortable than the prospect of facing the feelings I had been avoiding for a long time. Through therapy, I was becoming aware of the trap I was in and this song chronicles my coming to terms with the fact I had to dive into those difficult emotions to get out of it."
