DISCOVER Picks [Playlist] 2020 Vol.2 | Elli Ingram, Ragz Originale, Lauren Faith & more!

As we slip into the last few days of May 2020, we return with Vol.2 of our DISCOVER Picks playlist series. Kicking off with a short but sweetly blissful piece of music by multi-instrumentalist Maxwell Hunter, who plays bass and guitar for Masego. Of course the beloved jazz musician’s stunning vocals are also laced throughout the track, serving up beautiful, soulful melodies.

Taking you on a musical journey as always, Vol.2 provides a smooth and sultry offering of new age UK soul with tracks like ‘Quarantine Queen’ by Sinead Harnett, as well as jazz infused UK R&B with ‘Lovely Lonely’ by Chloe Bodur. Brighton’s Elli Ingram returns with her second release of the year entitled ‘Flowers,’ delivering powerful vocals as always and singing about her assertion of strength and freedom in life and love.

As we head towards the end of the playlist we turn things up ever so slightly, transitioning into ‘Thin Line’ by Tottenham’s Ragz Originale then following with ‘7 Days’ by Knucks, delivering some nostalgic vibes with his Craig David sampled track. Representing for the northwest of England, rapper KinKai released new project ‘A Pennies Worth,’ an impressive collection of melodic, wavy hip hop and his track ‘Cherry B’ is a great indication to what you can expect to hear.

Closing out the playlist with some uptempo newness such as the gqom mix of ‘Future Toyi Toyi’ from the forthcoming Keleketla! international collab project and singer, songwriter and producer Lauren Faith’s remix of her 2018 release ‘Just a Little’ - a gorgeously, groovy electronic number with bongo drums and tropical summer vibes to transit your mind into musical delight.
