MAXXIJ is proof of my love affair with Korean fashion
My secret, yet not so secret love for Korean culture and fashion runs deep, from aesthetics to lifestyle, I find Koreans just do it so well. Seoul born, Korean designer MAXXIJ does not disappoint my theory.
A conceptual fashion house created by London College of Fashion graduate designer Maxxij. The brand uses brave colour contrast and exaggeration is absolutely key, in defining his character as a fashion designer. MAXXIJ's design philosophy is about liberation and recreation of identity through fashion. The brand aims to create unconventional and expressive beauty of fashion with experimental design methods and creative concepts.
Their Masquerade collection aims to create unpredictable outcomes with originality. Featuring the expressive exaggeration of silhouettes, along with strong contrasts between structures and colours. MAXXIJ believes the act of wearing could be an art.
For their SS20 collection entitled ‘2020 The Night,’ Maxxij creates a fantastical masquerade party, featuring escapist characters with experimental volume and cut. The concept was developed from the designers imagination of an intriguing and memorable night.
Every collection gives me that goose bump of inspiration and boundlessness of fashion. The art form at it’s finest. I would definitely love to wear and have MAXXIJ in my wardrobe.
