BIA - Free BIA (1st Day Out) [Video] + Cover Girl [Audio]
“A SILENCED MIND IS AS DANGEROUS AS A LOADED GUN.”
The above phrase is the opening to Puerto Rican rapper, BIA’s recent single and video entitled ‘Free Bia (1st Day Out)’ and she’s definitely not holding back on what she has to say. The 28 year old rapper who was originally signed to Pharrell’s i am OTHER record label, in partnership with RCA Records insinuates on the track that it wasn’t the best of experiences. To be honest that’s putting it real lightly, by the sounds of it she was seriously f’ed over and she’s letting us all know about it.
The visual showcases BIA wearing a muzzle, locked in a demonic cell with ‘FREE BIA’ spray painted newspapers, scattered across the walls. As the title suggests BIA is released and wasting no time, she gets behind the wheel of a jeep and let’s rip on her thoughts about the music industry.
Now signed to Epic Records, BIA delivers a secondary treat with the release of ‘Cover Girl,’ a clear and concise message on her worth and the value she see’s in her self. Singing on the bridge, “spend that bag for a real bitch, spend that bag if you love me. I got 10,000 n****s wanna feel this but you can only get it if you're lucky.” In a time where we had the most amount of (let’s just call it for what it is) thirsty individuals, shamelessly doing the most to claim their moment of fame on Tory Lanez’ ‘Quarantine Radio,’ ‘Cover Girl’ by BIA is the perfect anthem to reinforce that it’s not necessary to give any and everybody access to your goodies.
