ENNY - Peng Black Girls feat. Amia Brave [Video]
Emerging South East London talent ENNY releases the beautiful visual for her brilliant new track, 'Peng Black Girls.’
Directed by Otis Dominique, the stylish and intimate visual for ENNY's powerful third single serves as a visually rich, artistic representation of the deep and multi-faceted identities and lives of black women. Through her wise and wily lyrics, ENNY unravels the stereotypes placed upon black women and defies the singularity of the identities they’re prescribed by the world around them, expressing a desire for freedom and unity. ENNY’s bold and intricate flow is what makes this single truly stand out but the addition of silky vocals from fellow London artist Amia Brave, makes this poignant single even more listenable and infectious.
Describing the video, ENNY states that, “PBG was written from a place of my subconscious. Looking at my family, friends or even random women and just thinking wow, society and your own culture will tell you you’re not beautiful because your skin is a certain shade, or your features don’t look a certain way. Now looking back at it, PBG was the beginning of me not caring and just being happy as I am…a complicated British Nigerian girl from southeast London with some very African features.”
