Watch the darkly mesmeric visuals for ‘Dead’ from CLOVES, which sees the artist trapped in a video game of her mind’s own making.

In ‘Dead’, the Australian, London-based artist navigates the mire of emotions and thoughts that overwhelm anxious minds. Mixing grunge-laced electronic production with icy, ethereal vocals, CLOVES creates a haunting quality, but ‘Dead’ also feels energetic and cool due to its pulsating beat and hypnotic guitar riffs. 

According to CLOVES, AKA Kaity Dunstan, “The inspiration for this video was the isolation, exhaustion and repetition that anxiety creates. It can feel like an over-functioning game in your mind, so I wanted to travel through my world’s game, each ‘level’ with a visual cue of what those barriers in your mind feel like, only to end up right back where you started, what feels like an impossible cycle to break.”
