James Massiah - Natural Born Killers (Ride for Me) [Video]
In this day and age a true creative can do pretty much anything - this is definitely the case with James Massiah. The South London based poet, DJ and producer releases ‘Natural Born Killers' (Ride For Me),’ a psychedelic electronic offering written, produced and performed by Massiah himself. As the debut single taken from his forthcoming EP of the same name, it’s an impressive preview to what more we can expect to hear.
Directed by Ian Pons Jewell, the visual for ‘Natural Born Killers (Ride for Me)’ is truly outstanding. The film is said to be a darkly twisted take on Massiah’s original material, whilst still retaining consistent themes of life, sex, death and the after life, as per his past works. Situated within an apocalyptic heatwave, Massiah joins an interesting cast of characters drowsily seeking respite from a scorching Buenos Aires, in a number of different but compelling scenarios.
Speaking on the single, Massiah shared that, “Natural Born Killers’ AKA ‘Ride For Me’, AKA ‘The Myth of Altruism’ is dedicated to the other half of me, and to you.”
The vinyl release of the single features a club version by Joy Orbison, one of Massiah’s most avid supporters in the electronic music scene. ‘Natural Born Killers (Ride for Me)’ the EP by James Massiah will be released on September 18th via London based independent label Levels. Until then, enjoy the visual below and feel free to stream the single here.
