Lucky Daye – Real Games [Video]
Emerging R&B artist Lucky Daye has just dropped new visuals for standout single ‘Real Games,’ taken from his debut album ‘Painted’ which dropped in May.
The video directed by child. & Dem captures the silkiness of the song, showcasing Daye effortlessly charming us, alongside his small band. Afro hairstyles to silk pants and a tennis court serves as a strong backdrop, whilst Daye struts around a pretty impressive modern mansion. The jump cuts between HD and retro footage, delivering depth into Daye’s style of music, with his duality in both old and new.
Daye is being hailed for channelling funk alongside contemporary R&B, allowing him to create his own lane of music without compromising his sound. In an interview with Billboard, Daye said the inspiration behind his LP and songs such as ‘Real Games’ came from his childhood - “As a kid, growing up and being told so many things was supposed to be a certain way and finding out it didn’t work, that kinda stuff that makes you want to know why. I wanna know why it don't work. I live by this all my life,” shares Daye.
