Will.i.am's collaboration with Lady Leshurr, Lioness & Ms Banks for PrettyLittleThing is a powerful one

Everyone screams diversity however, most brands get it completely wrong. They think it’s justifiable to throw in the one plus-sized person or a mixed raced face, to satisfy their diversity quota but sorry brands, that’s just not how it works. So after watching the new campaign for PrettyLittleThing’s summer collection, I was left feeling delighted for a number of reasons.

Firstly it goes without saying, this is a campaign that strongly appreciates the beauty and talent of three British ladies, who happen to be of a darker skinned complexion. However, it’s not their skin tone that got them this opportunity - their talent, tenacity and continued graft is what made this happen for them all.

Will.i.am knows talent and he made no mistake choosing to collaborate with Lady Leshurr, Lioness and Ms Banks. Three extremely different rappers, as well as individuals yet they come together effortlessly and this is because each of their talent’s are undeniable. Diversity is about shining the light on all people who are great, not cherry picking because they fit the brief. So when it’s done right, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

So about the collection, it’s one for all with each of the ladies representing a different body type: tall, petite, and plus. For those that fall in-between, don’t worry PLT has you covered as well. With a range of colourful and vibrant fits from casual and cosy to ultimate sass and sexiness, there is bound to be a piece or two to satisfy your wardrobe needs and not just for the summer season.

You can visit prettylittlething.com to shop the collection but before doing so, please watch the campaign music video where each of these wonderful ladies throw down the hottest bars on an absolute fire Will.i.am production. Reminding us all, just how they are individually incredible.
