DSTNGR Presents: In The Basement with ALMASS + LDN A (On Shenanigans)
We are back with our mid-week party down ‘In The Basement’ at the Queen of Hoxton, Shoreditch - for a night of good vibes and euphoric music. Playing the best beats from around the globe will be multi-disciplined creative ALMASS, On Shenanigans’ LDN A and of course your’s truly!
From photography to filmmaking, event curation to DJ’ing - ALMASS is a true artist + creative. There are no limits to her craft, most of which were self taught intentions of expression. ALMASS believes all art is a form of expressing our true selves, be it an emotional portrait or a music playlist communicating our emotions. As a member of the Shoreditch House committee, ALMASS takes pride in bringing people of creative greatness together. Having founded MOTION PICTURE, a groundbreaking platform showcasing emerging filmmakers and DJ’s, ALMASS has worked with an array of credible organisations from Boiler Room to the ICA.
ALMASS has been featured on the likes of Foundation FM and now we are fortunate to have her play a set next week. With a love for many musical genres, ALMASS will be fusing international Afro sounds for our dancing pleasures. Here’s a QUICK 24 mix by ALMASS, which is described as “a bite-size mix for the Deep & Afro House donnies.”
A lifelong love for music led LDN A to becoming yet another self taught DJ + Producer. Originally a street dancer, having been one of the original members of popular dance troupe Flawless - LDN A was always one to stand out across the dance floor in any rave. Be it popping + locking or jacking to house music, LDN A had the moves down effortlessly. LDN A’s love for entertainment fused the start of ‘On Shenanigan’s,’ an entertainment collective of DJ’s + entertainers, founded with long term friends DJ Gumbo + Boxfresh Benj. The collective launched a run of curated events from film screenings to games nights, giving adults the opportunity to relive their childhood memories.
Once DJing was under the belt, LDN A was determined to try his hand at producing music. Working with the likes of Sampl (Gabi’el, Monique Lawz), the pair have set out to create fresh music with a nostalgic British sound. Be sure to listen out for new music from the On Shenanigans collective soon and in the meantime, get yourself down to one of their incredible games nights.
LDN A will be kicking off the night with a selection of deep + afro house tunes and you can get a taste of what to expect, from his latest mix here:
It’s gonna me an amazing night catering to all the deep + tech house, afro house, afrobeats + baile funk music lovers.
