PUMA & MTV throw us back to the 80s with their special edition RS-X drop
What happens when a global sports brand and an American entertainment powerhouse team up? Well, this isn’t for the first time… If you cast your mind back to 2006, you may remember the PUMA Yo! MTV Raps collaboration. Either way, PUMA & MTV are back on familiar territory having produced a new and vibrant 80s inspired sneaker, which embodies and celebrates the intersection of pop culture and sport fashion.
The vibrant collection features a new iteration of the RS-X Tracks sneaker in two styles; MTV Gradient Blaze and MTV Gradient Gloom. The Blaze, in a White – Sweet Lavender is fresh and functional, whereas the Gloom in Black – Sweet Lavender is a pinpoint on the current neon trend and serves as a nostalgic collectible.
Both styles are built with a mesh and textile upper and stylish leather overlays. And of course, have the OG RS technology on the midsole. We also can’t help but notice that the colour palettes are undoubtedly reminiscent of the well-known MTV logo which sends a nostalgic wave of ‘the good old days.’ Remember watching MTV all day, every day?
For those of you that want to go full retro-throwback from the neck down, you can expect clothing in the drop including a tee, tank, track top and shorts emblazoned with bold PUMA x MTV graphic logo.
The PUMA x MTV collection dropped yesterday (14 March, 2019) and is now available globally on PUMA.com, as well as your local PUMA stores and retailers.
