The PUMA Cell franchise has landed!
When Puma does an exclusive drop, do you ever find yourself screaming who, what, when? or more importantly, how can I get my hands on them? Well we aim to keep you updated and let’s do so by introducing you to the PUMA Cell franchise! A magical re-introduction of the original OG classic and PUMA Cell Technology, delivering us pure 90’s nostalgia.
Launched with anticipation on October 4th 2018, at the first ever Hypefest Festival in Brooklyn, New York City. The drop saw the release of the Endura and Venom kicks, redesigned and elevated through a collaboration with Mita Japan founder and creative director Shigeyuki Kunii.
The Cell Endura is the closest to the original design (released 20 years ago) and features green eyelets, breathable mesh upper with suede and PU overlays.
The cell Venom combines both a mesh and leather upper – both models displaying small elements of neon green.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen a surge in brands re-inventing kicks from the 90’s and people just can’t seem to get enough. Even UK rapper Ghetts is in the action, as he fronts the latest PUMA Cell Endura campaign for Foot Patrol London.
PUMA also revealed the 2019 line up of forthcoming CELL collaborations, including BLENDS, Rhuigi Scuderia and MCM.
Side note: It could be another 20 years until we see another retro revamp… so cop yours before they’re gone. Both the PUMA CELL Mita Japan styles retail at $150 and available from puma.com.
