Alessia Cara - Trust My Lonely [Video]
Grammy Award winner Alessia Cara has released a video for ‘Trust My Lonely,’ the singer’s second single from upcoming album ‘The Pains of Growing.’
The vibrant video continues on from ‘Growing Pains,’ Cara’s prior release back in June 2018. The new visuals consist of Cara wearing an oversized suit, while dancing around colourful backdrops but as always with Cara’s music, the song stands for more than just pretty visuals. The message expresses the art of self-preservation, growing up and letting negative people go. As the saying goes “no company, is better than bad company.”
Another interesting aspect from the video is Cara’s choice of wearing a suit that’s way too big for her. In a recent Instagram post, Cara sheds some light on the symbolism behind the suit, “the oversized suit visually represents the idea of growing up too fast, or trying to fit ourselves into roles that can feel too large to handle. We aren’t always prepared for life when it runs towards us full speed.”
The world needs people like Alessia Cara, young artists who are not afraid to cater their craft towards real life issues surrounding adolescence, ‘1-800-273-8255’ by Logic which feature’s Cara and her 2016 release ‘Scars to Your Beautiful,’ being prime examples. Beyond making music, Cara has recently been involved in a tour across colleges in America, discussing her career, personal stories and experiences as a young American woman.
